Enter from street and walk through inside parking area, turn right at elevator and proceed up the staircase that’s immediately beside elevator to the 4th floor.
True to its name, Room44 is a cozy little room set on the 4th floor of a retro style building in Saigon.
It’s cool entry from the hallway opens into a warmly decorated cafe that feels like ‘home’. Immediately to your left is the brick clad serving counter featuring a dessert case and coffee equipment. Looking around the room there’s an assortment of seating areas including a very inviting sofa and coffee table arrangement, a large table ideal for studying or laptop time, small cafe style tables and chairs throughout and bar stools along the counter.
The large rounded floor to ceiling windows on the far side of the cafe give light and ample character to the space during they day. At night the warm glow of the lighting gives the space a decidedly mellow mood. A door beside the large windows opens to a long slender outdoor patio dotted with an assortment of plants.
The coffee selection includes a very complete range of espresso drinks like regular Lattes and Cappuccinos (hot or ice), to their more specialty offering of Salted Caramel Caffe Latte. Vietnamese offerings are black and milk in either hot or ice and egg coffee. Lastly, a selection of cold brew coffees that interestingly include a hibiscus and margarita variety. The Latte is great, well prepared, smooth and highly drinkable. Their food items include a limited range of pastries like croissants and waffles.
Above all, Room44 just feels good to be in. The atmosphere with its background music, decor and general vibe feel pleasant. Whether you want to totally shut down and relax or think up your next great idea or chat with a close friend, it’s a good place to make it happen.
