Cafe Review
Hyper Coffee is such a nice find. Situated on the ground floor of a house on a small street, it immediately feels ‘approachable’ as you walk up to it. The front is an outdoor space with simple seating and tables for street side coffees, and a large open frontage creates a sense of seamlessness of the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Stepping inside, Hyper has an eclectic and interesting decor and style all its own. It unabashedly blends traditional elements with fun pop like elements to form its own unique and genuine personality… its funky and its fun. What’s most apparent is that it’s the creation of people that love coffee.
The indoor area has a comfy ‘lived in’ feel that starts with the main counter filled with coffee equipment – blasted with stickers, posters and various odds and ends making it an interesting centrepiece. Behind that, lies a beauty of a coffee roasting machine, Hyper roasts their own Da Lat sourced coffee in-house on premise. Wonderful.
Towards the back there’s a prominent staircase winding its way to the upper floor and water feature underneath. Along the right side wall features a traditional style wall unit, book shelves, pictures and a beautiful front corner beside the window that I’d fondly call a ‘shrine to coffee’.
The coffee itself is fantastic. It’s nicely balanced and tasty, a mind-blowing great value for the price for the quality and preparation you get. Enjoy Vietnamese or espresso based drinks of your choice, or have a pour over made for you.
Hyper Coffee really was an enjoyably casual coffee experience that should most certainly be visited.
