Cafe Review

Set inside the back corner of a large villa in Hoàn Kiếm, Lily Coffee’s dark and intimate interior is a peaceful refuge from busy Hanoi streets.

Its split level design makes the most out of a small floor   plan. The ground floor features a large serving counter that occupies the space under the partial upper floor. The full ceiling height seating area is defined by two beautiful tall windows with wood seating along their base.

Upstairs is a long narrow space with low ceiling height, seating runs along the length on either side. However, the seats looking outward are a dramatic vantage point to the lower floor. At the end of the narrow split floor is a tiny room that serves as a perfect little hide away nook for you and a couple friends to chat over coffees.

There’s nice attention to detail all around, a relaxing playlist, intriguing scent in the air and little design touches throughout – it’s a very pleasant space.

The coffee is wonderful. Choose from espresso varieties, Vietnamese traditional coffee, or from a selection of their signature drinks like Mocara Winter (espresso, steamed milk, caramel or chocolate sauce) or Lychee! Lychee! (cold brew coffee, lychee, lemon juice, sugar and ice). The coffee was tasty and nicely prepared.

Lily Coffee is a uniquely pleasurable cafe experience.
